Permits for new construction and modifications to existing structures require a
building permit that is issued by the zoning administrator. The fee for building permits
is $17.00. It is recommended that you apply at least 15 days prior to construction for a
permit. Permits are not valid until after the 15 day appeal period has expired.
The septic officer issues permits for any new septic systems or modifications of
existing systems. The fee is $12.00.
The zoning administrator is also the enforcement officer for zoning violations.
Persons who wish to appeal a decision by the zoning officer, or to request a
conditional permit or waiver need to apply to the Board of Adjustment. The Town
Clerk will schedule a meeting of the board, which only meets as needed. The fee is
$47.00. Appeals must be requested within 15 days of the issuing of the zoning
officer's decision.
